I appeared on Food Networks’ Worst Cooks In America Season 29 as one of the worst cooks! Now you can bring home the watercolor art print of the paintings of my famous home town dishes: Hong Kong BBQ Pork with Bok Choy Over Rice and Taro Milk Bubble Tea.
The night before I have to cook my dishes on TV, I was alone at the hotel at 1:00am all stressed out about embarrassing my ancesters with my lack of cooking skills in front of the whole world. To calm myself, I turned to my art practice. I started painting the Hong Kong dishes in watercolor. It helped me express myself without words, regain control of my emotions and get familiar with the ingredients for the cooking challenge the next day.
When Chef Anne and Chef Gabe tasted my food and drink…they were not impressed! They much preferred my paintings over my food. Talk about Instagram vs. Reality! I am happy to highlight these hometown dishes of mine through my art. I hope you enjoy this pair of art prints.
